Minwax antique oil to achieve a nice satin finish on my rifle stocks. Ive been trying to apply minwax tung oil to a new garand stock using the directions on the can with no acceptable success. Since i assume the stock has no real collector value i am considering using minwax tung oil finish instead of pure tung oil since i understand that it resists moisture well humid sc climate is more durable and is less likely to oxidize and turn the the wood red while still providing a nice gi looking finish.
